If I had one more week in the Dominican Republic, this is where I would go.

If you come, stay in Hotel California. It’s beautiful, and close enough to town to be in walking distance, but far enough away to be quiet and secluded. It wasn’t in our guidebook. Yep, you find the gems by venturing off the beaten path. 

There’s a beautiful, daily market, waterfalls, rafting, and home of the best burger in the Dominican Republic (in general, I’d pass on restaurants here unless you are a fried chicken fanatic).
