About Me
More than anything, I am curious. I want to know what, and why, and I want to see it for myself.
I like getting dirty. I like a challenge. I like to prove to myself that I can do anything. I like helping people prove to themselves that they can do anything.
I want to live like no one else, and enjoy every day to it’s fullest. I like getting absorbed in the things I am passionate about, and am on a constant quest to define what it is I love, and how I can be the best person I can.
Life is an adventure.
School
I am finishing my 3rd year at UW-Madison, studying Life Science Communication with an International Agriculture focus.
I have studied several subjects that I find interesting rather in-depth, though not majoring in them: Horticulture, Psychology, and German.
I am planning to graduate December 2011. Graduate school, culinary school, finding a job with an organization I believe in - these are all possibilities for next spring.
Work
I am currently employed by the University under Dr. Paul Bethke. I work as a lab tech in his USDA potato research lab. We study the sugar content and distribution of storage potatoes.
I love working in restaurants; the atmosphere, the timing, the interaction, the FOOD! I am going to apply to several when I come back to Madison in the fall.
Play
I play every day, in whatever way I can. Wether it’s by experimenting in the kitchen, taking a new bike route home, or getting out to throw a frisbee or kick the ball around.
When I can get more than a few hours away, I love to climb, cycle, kayak, and hike. Show me a mountain and I will race you to the top.
I’ve hiked in 9 National Parks, and my goal is to experience the rest in the in the next 20 years. I want to walk El Camino de Santiago within 5.
